Kabini Outbound

Recently we had been to a outbound in our office...these are some of the snaps of the beautiful place "Kabini".Its a Jungle lodges resort located on the banks of river Kabini in Karnataka.The resort has the view of Nagarhole,Madhumalai and Waynad forests with rich wild life and natural beauty.Its really Awesome.Do check the snaps.
The place is 4 hrs drive from Bangalore,we reached the place by 12 noon.This is the entrance building called as "Viceroy Building ".There are 3 such buildings and some cottages facing the river.We stayed in one of those 3 buildings.
There are several activities at the place jungle safari,Boat safari,Rafting .we had been to the safari,it was so exciting..we could sight elephants,tiger(which we couldnt capture),lots of deers(sambar,spotted),crocrodiles,peacocks.The place was really rich with natural beauty and its so peaceful on the banks of the river.Early morning we could see the sunrise ....lighting the river water with its shine....
since it was a outbound training we had loads of team activities to make us run around the place.We could get ample of time to enjoy the place beauty.It was really a worth seeing place.

Global Music Fusion

Check this awesome vidoe by Dr.L.Subramaniam performing Global Music Fusion with different Musicians from all parts of the Globe.Among his pioneering efforts are Reflections (Subramaniam prefers to call it Global Fusion), a symphony which combines various elements, traditions and instruments, including some rare ones, from different parts of the world.I could see almost all indian and some of the westren instruments....you can also see Siva Mani perfoming the percussions.

Such a nice orchestra ,medley of indian and westren.Do check it.

The Melakarta Ragams The Melakarta Ragams are the 72 basic Janaka (parent) ragams for all of the infinite others in Carnatic Music. All of these ragams are saptaswaras, that is that they have all seven notes - Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da, Ne, and Sa. The system is divided into two sets of 36 ragams - one set with the first Ma and the second Ma. This is very similar to the Western concept of scales and the circle of flats.

Remember "Shakti"

Remember Shakti is a quintet which combines elements of traditional Indian music with elements of jazz. The band consists of English guitarist John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain (tabla), U. Srinivas (mandolin), Shankar Mahadevan (vocals), and V. Selvaganesh (kanjira, ghatam, mridangam), who are all of Indian descent. The band's name is derived from John Mclaughlin's acoustic Indian fusion band Shakti which was active in the 1970s. This band consisted of John McLaughlin, Zakir Hussain, L. Shankar, T.H. "Vikku" Vinayakram, and R. Raghavan. The word "Shakti" translates in Sanskrit to "female creative power" or "goddess."

These are few of my favourite shakti concerts,of which i am very big fan of Mandolin srinivas mellifluous flow of swaras.I attended one of their concerts in bangalore in which i had a chance to listen to the below songs.

సాయంత్రం మా ఇంట్లో ఇంకా ఇరుగుపొరుగు ఇంట్లో జరిగే పేరంటం.పిల్లలందరం కలిసి అందరికి ఇళ్ళకు వెళ్ళే వాళ్ళం.
ఒక్కక్కరింట్లో ఒకొక్క విధమయిన అలకారం చేసేవాళ్ళు.కొందరు తమ ఇంట్లో ఉండే పిల్లలకి కృష్ణుని వేషం వేసేవళ్ళు.ఇంకా ఇంటి ముందు అ రోజు ముచ్చటగా వేసే కృష్ణుని పాదలు అంటే నాకు చాలా ఇష్టం.మా వీధి చివర్లో ఉట్టి కట్టే వాళ్ళు అది పెద్దవాళ్ళకి కాదు...చిన్న చిన్న పిల్లలకి..వాళ్ళు దాన్ని కొట్టలేక ఆ రంగు నీళ్ళలో తడిసిపొయె వాళ్ళు...చివరగా ఎవరో ఒకరు వాళ్ళని ఎత్తుకోని దాన్ని కొట్టెసేవాళ్ళు.

రేపటితో మనకు అంటే మన దేశానికి స్వాతంత్రం వచ్చి అరవై యేళ్ళు పూర్తి అవుతుంది.ఈ అరవై యేళ్ళ స్వాతంత్రంలో నేను చూసింది ఇరవైఐదు యేళ్ళు మాత్రమే(ఎందుకంటే నేను పుట్టింది అప్పుడే కాబట్టి).ఈ ఇరవైఐదు యేళ్ళలో మొదటి పదేళ్ళు నేనంటె ఎమో నాకే తెలియదు ఇంక స్వాతంత్రం గురించి ఎంచెప్తాను.మిగిలిన పదిహేను యెళ్ళలో చివరి ఐదు యెళ్ళలో నేను చూసిన పెద్ద మార్పు " ఉద్యోగాలు" అవును అందరికి చాల బాగా ఉద్యోగాలు వస్తున్నా యి.దీనికి స్వాతంత్రనికి ఏమిటి సంబంధం అనుకుంటున్నారా అక్కడికే వస్తున్న,మరి ఇంక నేనేమి చెప్పను స్వాతంత్రం గురించి అది వచ్చాక కదా నేను పుట్టింది.అప్పుడు జరిగిన విషయాలన్ని మనం చిన్నపుడే చదివేశాం,వినేశాము.

ఆగస్టు పదిహేను అంటే నాకు కొన్ని చిన్నపటి విషయాలు గుర్తొస్తాయి .ముందుగా ఆ రోజు స్కూల్లో జండా వందనం,తర్వతా వాళ్ళు ఇచ్చే చాకొలెట్లు, ఇంకా అ రోజు స్కూల్కి సెలవు.ఆ రోజు డిడిలో ప్రసారమయే లైవె ప్రొగ్రం ఢిల్లినుంచి ,మన అద్రుష్టం బావుంటే ఒక మంచి సినిమా డిడిలో.ఇంక కాలేజి కి వచ్చాక అది ఒక సెలవు దినంగ మత్రమే గుర్తుండి పొయింది.

ఈ ఆగస్టు పదిహేను సందర్భంగా నేనునా బ్లాగులో కొన్ని పాటలు,వీడియొలు పొస్ట్ చేద్దమనుకున్నా.ముందుగా ఈ జణగణమణ వీడియొ చూడండి.ఈ వీడియొ కి ఒక ప్రత్యేకత ఉంది,కర్నాటక సంగీతం మరియు హిందుస్తాని సంగీతంలో దిగ్గజాల చేత జణగణమణ పాడించటం జరిగింది.

పంచరత్న(అంటే ఐదు రత్నాలు)కీర్తనలు కర్ణాటక సంగీతంలో చాలా ప్రసస్తి చెందినవి.ఈ కీర్తనలు త్యాగరాజ స్వామిచే విరచితమయినవి.ఈ కీర్తనలని వాటి రాగం యొక్క భవాన్ని మరియు సందర్భాన్ని ద్రుష్టిలో పెట్టుకుని వ్రాయడం జరిగింది.ఐదు కీర్తనలని రాగ ,తానం ,పల్లవి విధానం లో మరియు ఆది తాళం లో సమకూర్చడం అయినది.
మొదటిది :- జగదానంద కారక -- నాట రాగం
రెండవది :- దుడుకుగల నన్నె దొర -- గౌళ రాగం

ఈ ఐదు రాగలని ఘన రాగలు అని అంటారు అందుకే కర్ణాటక సంగీతాన్నిఘనపంచకం అని కూడ పిలవచ్చు.వీణ మీద తానం వాయించడానికి అనువుగా ఉంటాయి కాబట్టి వీటిని ఘన రాగలు అంటారు .

జగదానంద కారక :- మాములుగా సంగీత కచేరీలను నాటరాగం తో ప్రారంభించటం ఆనవాయితి .ఈ కీర్తన లో త్యాగరాజుల వారు రామచంద్రుని గురించి పొగడుతు వ్రాసారు,ఇది పూర్తిగా సంస్క్రుతం లో రచించబడినది. నాట మరియు వరాళి రాగలు వెయ్యి సంవత్సరములకంటే పూరతన మయినవి .

దుడుకుగల నన్నె దొర :- రెండవదైన దుడుకుగల,ఇందులో ఆయన తన జీవితంలో చేసిన తప్పుల గురించి చెప్తు రాములవారిని క్షమించమని కోరారు.ఆయన చేసిన తప్పులను వివరించారు.

సాధించనే ఓ మనసా :- మూడవది అయిన సాధించనే, ఇందులో అయిన భగవంతుని యొక్క గొప్పతనన్ని చాలా అందంగా,చక్కగా వర్ణించారు. మొదటి ఐదు చరణాలు శ్రీ కృష్ణుని గొప్పతనాన్ని ,ఆరవ చరణం రాముడి ఘనతను మిగిలిన చరణాలు వేంకటేశ్వర స్వామిని పొగడుతు వ్రాశారు .
అది ఎలా అంటే:- ఓ హరి !! నువ్వు చాల తెలివయిన వాడివి నీ తల్లి తండ్రులయిన దేవకి వసుదేవులను గోపికలను అందరిని నీ చమత్కారం తో దాసులను చేసి ,నీ అమాయకపు నవ్వుతో యశోదా దేవిని మాయ చేశావు. నీ భక్తుల మీద నీకున్న ఆపారమైన ప్రేమని,నీ సద్గుణాలని నా హ్రుదయకమలమునందు పూజిస్తు నేను ఆలాపిస్తునాను.
ఓ రామచంద్ర !! రఘువంశ తిలక ,మ్రుదుభాషి,శేషశయన మీద పవళించుచు,కమలాల వంటి కనులు ఉన్న తండ్రి నన్ను బ్రోవుమయ్య.

కనకన రుచిరా :- ఈ కీర్తనను చాల తక్కువగా ఆలాపించటం జరుగుతుంది .దీన్ని గురువు దగ్గర అభ్యసిస్తే గురు శిష్యుల మధ్య భేదభవాలు కలుగుతాయి అని ఒక నానుడి.అందుకనే ఈ కీర్తనను నేర్పించడం చాలా అరుదు.ఇందులో ధ్రువుని కధ కి రామయణానికి ఉన్న పొలికలను వర్ణించడం జరిగింది.

ఎందరో మహనుభావులు :- ఈ కీర్తనలో త్యాగరాజుల వారు ,ప్రపంచములో ఉన్న గొప్పవారందరికి తన వందనాలు తెలిపారు.ఈ కీర్తన చాలా పేరుపొందినది.

"Hum Dono " in Colour

A super hit classic 1961 Hindi film 'Hum Dono' starring Bollywood actor Dev Anand will be re-released in colour after 43 years. This movie has one of my most favourite songs in hindi " abhi na Jao chod kar".
Hum Dono is the third Indian Hindi classic after Mughal-E-Azam and Naya Daur to be re-released in colour. The film is slated for national and international release in December 2007.

My Recent Trip

Recently we had been to River Tern Lodge (Bhadra Wilderness Retreat) .It is located near Bhadra Wildlife Sanctuary which is situated in the midst of the Western Ghats of Shimoga dist around Chikmaglur area in Karnataka.It was very Nice place close to Nature.Got some snaps of it check them.The resort is Named after a bird Called " River Tern " . It is a Jungle resort where we can have activities like safari,boating and trekking.

తాయే యశోదా original song was written and composed by OotukkaaDu VenkaTasubbaiyyar.But this Fusion version of thaye yashoda is from the film "Morning Raaga" and the composition by
Manisharma.There is so much love in the lyrics when he describes the various antics of Sri Krishna. Some of the finest poetry has been composed in describing the playful young Krishna as well as the romantic Krishna . Sudha Ragunathan has rendered this song very skillfully and the music is simply brilliant. The song is not sung entirely but it is remarkably beautiful. Most of the song is filled with swaras and I find that so captivating.
